Carbon and Nitrogen Analyzers Perfect for TOC water analysis and environmental applications

  • High sample throughput in liquid and solid mode

  • Variable injection and sample digestion techniques

  • Highest matrix tolerance and cost efficiency

Fast and easy-to-determine parameters have established Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Total bound Nitrogen (TNb) levels as reliable indicators for quality assessment of water samples in environmental monitoring and industrial processes. The TOC parameter is equally important for the classification of solid waste in terms of landfill class allocation.

The multi N/C series of carbon and nitrogen analyzers are optimized for a wide range of requirements in these areas – with which you can determine TOC/TNb contents efficiently and reliably in compliance with standards. Applications include the analysis of drinking and surface water, landfill leachates and waste water, process water (such as cooling and boiler feed water), electrolysis baths, or as quality control in the chemical industry. Additionally, soils, sludges, sediments, and industrial waste (such as ashes, slags and filter dusts) can be analyzed for TOC automatically.

Efficiency and high throughput
Automate your TOC water analysis processes with versatile auto samplers and other efficiency-enhancing features such as integrated sample homogenization by magnetic stirring, automatic acidification, and parallel purge & analysis. Depending on your requirements, processes can be optimized or automated for sample sequences ranging from a few, up to 146 samples for high-throughput analysis.

With a separate solids module, you can also analyze solid samples directly for their TOC content. Thanks to built-in valve technology, you can quickly switch between liquid and solid operation without downtime for system conversion. With the multi N/C duo systems, both water analysis and TOC solids analysis with up to 48 samples per sequence can be automated. Large sample weights ensure reliable measurements – even for less homogeneous samples.

Long service life thanks to proven furnace technology
Catalytic combustion at up to 950 °C enables the complete oxidation of stable organic water contaminants and particle-containing samples with simultaneous TNb determination. Efficiency and reliability characterize our furnace technology in this field. We can proudly offer a 10-year long-term warranty (PDF) on our furnace technology. In addition, the optimized design of the combustion tubes minimizes the use of expensive catalysts and simultaneously increases tolerance to saline matrices. In solids analysis, we rely entirely on durable ceramic technology. High combustion temperatures of up to 1300°C make the use of expensive catalysts obsolete. We also offer extended maintenance cycles and minimized operating costs for both the analysis of water and solids.
